Pre-Test Checklist

Complete hazard perception test
Submit your logbook (if required)

Logbook Requirements

Under 25? You need 100 hours (10 at night) logged and approved.
Allow at least 10 business days for approval after submission.
Over 25? No logbook required.
Always check QLD Transport’s website for the latest requirements.

Test Vehicle

QLD Transport does not provide cars.
Options: Bring your own or use a DreamWorks car.
Our recommendation: use the car you’re most comfortable in (usually the one you trained in).
If BYO: check it meets QLD Transport test standards.

Message from Your Examiner (Q-SAFE Summary)

What to expect on test day:

You’ll complete a range of driving tasks across different speed zones.
Follow signs and instructions clearly.
Always drive within road rules and safe conditions.
No illegal tasks will be asked of you.
Turn off or disable driver-assist devices (GPS, park assist, speed alarms).
Examiners may take notes — don’t panic.
Debrief provided at the end of your test.

No — examiners are from QLD Transport. They want you to pass.

Q: How long is the test?
Around 30 minutes (sometimes a little more depending on traffic).

Any time you feel ready — but avoiding peak hour or school zones is usually nicer.
